I woke up today to great news! 16 Puerto Rican Portraits reached its goal last night with backer #102. There is a lot to do from now on, since I would like to send the most of the rewards December. If you are reading this and you picked a reward that needs shipping, please check that you’ve sent me your name and address. Almost half of all backers contributed anonymously so I have been writing to each of you to ask for this information.
I don’t anticipate more contributions since Sarah and I tapped ALL of our friends and family. If anything above the goal is contributed or if any funds are left over, I plan on donating that money to a Puerto Rican non-profit working with low-income residents.
I just learned from Kickstarter that the funds will not become available to me until January 1st. The usual delay is 14 days. The funding could not arrive at a better time since it is at that time that I will start packing paintings to send to California. Luckily I am still friends with some of my former drawing and painting instructors, and I will be speaking with them to find out what resources they’ve used to ship outside Puerto Rico. I am hoping I can buy a crate and that I won’t have to build it!
