After some time tracking the shipment and spending a whole day at my studio’s location waiting, the paintings arrived via freight. I am SO happy, and very relieved. The three landscapes came in days later via USPS. It is such a relief to know everything arrived in great condition, even though there were scary moments (such as the time when they called me to tell me to pick up my shipment – in Miami!
Some people have asked me why didn’t I ship them rolled up. Well, that is a lot of staples to remove, something my arm and hand can no longer do without me getting swelling and pain. I could have hired people to do that over there but then I would have had to build stretchers on which to place them here. Sticking them inside a box seemed easier and more sensible all the way around.
I have been making revisions to the five paintings I feel need some details. This has taken me a few days but I am currently on my last painting. I am waiting for the last one to dry, then it’s off to the professional photographer. I will need photos of each of the paintings so that the curator for this show can make a preliminary selection.
